WAREHOUSING

WAREHOUSE-MEANING-A WAREHOUSE IS A COMMERCIAL BUILDING FOR STORAGE OF GOODS. WAREHOUSES ARE USED BY MANUFACTURERS, IMPORTERS,WHOLESALER,TRANSPORT BUSINESS,CUSTOMERS ETC. THEY USUALLY HAVE LOADING DOCKS TO LOAD AND UNLOAD GOODS FROM TRUCKS. SOMETIMES WAREHOUSES LOAD AND UNLOAD DIRECTLY FROM RAILWAYS,AIRPORT OR SEAPORTS.
TYPES OF WAREHOUSES
1.PRIVATE WAREHOUSES-THESE WAREHOUSES ARE CONSTRUCTED BY BUSINESSMAN FOR PERSONAL USE. NORMALLY LARGE BUSINESS HOUSES GET THESE WAREHOUSES CONSTRUCTED BECAUSE THE COST OF CONSTRUCTING THESE WAREHOUSES IS VERY HIGH.
FEATURES- 1. SMALL AND FINANCIALLY WEAK FIRMS CAN NOT AFFORD TO HAVE PRIVATE WAREHOUSES.
2.THESE WAREHOUSES ARE MADE BY FIRMS WHICH NEED WAREHOUSES WITH SPECIAL TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS.
3. THESE KIND OF WAREHOUSES ARE SUITABLE FOR SUCH FIRMS WHERE IMMEDIATE AVAILABILITY OF GOODS IS REQUIRED.
2.PUBLIC WAREHOUSES-THESE WAREHOUSES ARE AVAILABLE FOR GENERAL PUBLIC TO STORE THEIR GOODS. THE OWNER OF THESE WAREHOUSES ARE PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS OR GROUP OF PEOPLE.

3.BONDED WAREHOUSES-THESE WAREHOUSES ARE USED TO STORE THE IMPORTED GOODS ON WHICH IMPORT DUTY IS NOT PAID. THESE ARE LICENSED BY GOVERNMENT AND CAN BE OWNED BY PORT AUTHORITY OR PRIVATE PEOPLE.FEATURES-1.GOODS CAN BE REMOVED IN PATR ON THESE WAREHOUSES STORE IMPORTED GOODS.
2. GOODS CAN BE REMOVED IN PARTS FROM THESE WAREHOUSES.
3. THESE WAREHOUSES PROVIDE ENOUGH TIME TO IMPORTER TO ARRANGE MONEY TO PAY IMPORT DUTY.
